Care

What a visit with me looks like.

Everything happens by secure video, so you can be at home, at work behind a closed door, or anywhere private in a state where I’m licensed.

01

Psychiatric evaluation

A full first visit, about an hour. We go through what brings you in, your history, past treatments and what you want to change. You leave with a working diagnosis and a plan.

02

Medication management

Follow-up visits to see how things are going, adjust doses, manage side effects and decide when a medication has done its job.

03

Psychotherapy in visits

Practical, evidence-based therapy woven into our appointments, such as cognitive-behavioral and supportive approaches, alongside referral to a dedicated therapist when that would help more.

04

Addiction treatment

Evaluation and treatment for alcohol and substance use, including relapse prevention and co-occurring anxiety or depression.

05

Second opinions

Already in treatment and not sure it’s right? I can review what you’ve tried and give you a clear, independent view.

A good fit if you…

  • are 18 or older
  • will be in one of my licensed states during visits
  • want an evaluation, a clear diagnosis and a medication plan
  • are dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, sleep problems or substance use, or several at once
  • want to see the same psychiatrist every time

Not the right fit if you…

  • are in crisis or unsafe right now: call or text 988, or call 911
  • need hospital care, medical detox or intensive outpatient treatment (I’ll help you find it)
  • are looking for a specific controlled medication promised in advance
  • are under 18
  • need court-ordered, disability or forensic evaluations

Your first visit

What to expect, start to finish.

  1. Before

    • A private, quiet spot with good internet, and a phone or computer with a camera
    • A list of your current medications and doses, and past ones that didn’t work
    • Your pharmacy’s name and address
    • A photo ID
    • Any recent labs or records, if you have them
  2. During

    • About an hour, all with me
    • Your symptoms, history, past treatment, health and what you want to change
    • I explain what I think is going on, in plain language
    • We agree on a plan together, including whether medication makes sense
  3. After

    • Prescriptions go electronically to your pharmacy
    • A follow-up is usually in 2–6 weeks while we adjust treatment, then less often once things are stable
    • Follow-ups are about 30 minutes and include therapy as well as medication management

Staying in touch

Refills

Ask at your visit, or reply to any CAPTA email at least a week before you run out. I review refills against your next scheduled visit so you don’t run short.

Questions

Insurance patients can message me through Alma’s secure portal. For anything clinical, please use the portal or a visit rather than regular email.

After hours

This is a scheduled-visit practice without 24-hour coverage. In an emergency, call or text 988, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Rescheduling

Use the link in your booking confirmation. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice when you can.
